In Rhythm Kids® Level 2 classes, students ages 5 1/2 to 7 years old explore rhythm by playing with music from around the world. Music
Together–trained teachers lead dynamic classroom activities designed especially for early elementary students, and the discovery continues at home with the interactive Rhythm Kids videos, easily viewable on our app. As they drum, sing, and move to new rhythms, children naturally build musicality that helps them prepare for formal music lessons. Opportunities to solo, work in ensembles, and improvise support social and listening skills, self-expression, and self-confidence. Rhythm Kids Level 2 guides children toward developmentally appropriate music and movement activities, where they can begin to take charge, lead others, and be musically creative, as they:

  • make up their own drumming patterns

  • invent new ways to play rhythm instruments (shakers, sticks, etc.)

  • create movement ideas for songs

  • even take a drum solo!

Rhythm Kids Level 2 carries on the Music Together® vision to help children complete the pathway of early childhood music development from birth through age eight. Classes and include:

  • 10 weekly, 45-minute classes

  • Songbook and CD each semester

  • Access to online drum-play videos and other material

Children will:

  • Explore the world of rhythm through movement, instrument play, and song

  • Develop basic rhythm skills, like keeping beat, improvising, ensemble play, and soloing

  • Learn to create, cooperate, and express themselves musically

Drums are required for the class each week. You may provide your own or take advantage of the great price we offer through Music Together.

Rhythm Kids Level 2 is a drop-off optional class. Parents are welcome to stay and participate or children may attend on their own, if they're ready.

Tuition for all Music Together classes includes family materials to use at home (e.g., recordings of our award-winning music, illustrated songbook, parent education resources).
